   Aquaria vattenmuseum

The water Museum presents living ecosystems. South American rainforest with plants and animals. Tropical marine tank with sharks, corals and shoal fish. Free swimming sea trout that leap from the Baltic Sea to spawn inside the museum. Guidefilm.

Armemuseum

The Army Museum shows how men, women and children fared in war and peace throughout Sweden’s history. Wander from Viking times to the present amidst realistic scenes and original objects. Separate displays of trophies and weapons.

Bergianska tradgarten

Bergius Botanic Garden and grounds on the waterfront. Herb garden, kitchen garden, Japanese pond. Edvard Anderson’s conservatory shows Mediterranean flora, miniature deserts and rain forest. Giant water lilies and tropical aquatic plants in the Victoria greenhouse.

   Livrustkammaren

The Royal Armory gives fascinating glimpses of royal history. Displayed in the striking palace vaults are state carriages, costumes with gold embroidery, armour and weapons. See Gustav III’s costume for the masked ball, Charles XII’s uniform and Gustav Adolphus’ horse.

   Skansen

Skansen is the world’s oldest open-air museum. Its unique collection of 150 historical buildings offers a living history of Sweden. Traditional festivities, folk dancing, jazz, popular and classical music, dancing and sing-alongs. Building preservation centre.

Tullmuseet

The Swedish Customs Museum documents the history of the customs service. Visit the customs office and a bonded warehouse. Much of the museum is devoted to smuggling. Special exhibitions throughout the year.

   Kungl. Myntkabinettet

The Royal Coin Cabinet is Europe’s most modern museum of the finance. Displays of remarkable coins, banknotes, medals- works of art in miniature – and share certificates provide rare insights into the world of finance now and in the past.
