план-конспект урока по английскому языку (8 класс) на тему

шаманова галина борисовна

Кино является самым популярным видом искусства, а в этом году мы будем праздновать 125-летие первого киносеанса, так что тема "кино" выбрана для открытого урока неслучайно. Да и просто хотелось, чтобы ребятам было интересно.

MORE THAN HOLLYWOOD

If you find Hollywood movies too commercial, what about the great New directors? Each of them has his own style, but they have three things in common: their films are deeper and more fnd more serious than typical Hollywood productions< they often show the city of New York? And none of the four is a “white anglo-Saxon” American!

A

Martin Scorsese was born into a family of Sicilian immigrants. In an area of New York dominated by the Mafia. As a child he witnessed a lot of crime and brutality, which he later portrayed in his films. They are usually set in New York, and the characters are, as a reviewer once wrote,”the kind of people you wouldn’t want to know”. He often casts Italian-American actors Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver, Goodfellas) and Leonardo DiCaprio (The Aviator, The Departed). Scorsese’s films were sometimes criticized for the violence they contain. The director himself says: “All right, but that’s the reality I see”. In 2007 he finally won an Oscar for The Departed.

B

Francis Ford Coppola also comes from an Italian-American background. The picture that brought him fame was the Godfather (1972), the story of Mafia family; it also made Al Pacino a star. Two years later, with the Goodfather 2 Coppola became  one of only five directors ever to win Oscars for best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay for the same movie. His most ambitious film is Apocalypse Now, a Vietnam War epic inspired by Joseph Conrad’s novel Heart of Darkness.

C

Comedy director and actor Woody Allen comes from a New York Jewish family. A typical Allen comedy (such as Annie Hall or Manhattan) is both set and shot in New York, contains lots of amusing dialogue and features a typical hero, played by the director himself; the intellectual ‘urban neurotic’. The black-and-white shots of New York in Manhattan have become part of cinema history.

D

Spyke Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia – not a good place to be for an ambitious young black man in the 1950s. At a very early age he moved to New York. Initially he made films about the lives and problems of African Americans, such as Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X. His first movie with white main character, played by Edward Norton was 25th Hour (2002).

 Подведение итогов

Ход урока.

1 .Hello, how are you? I’m glad to see you. Who is absent today? What is the weather like today?

This year is the year of the 120th anniversary since the first film was shown. The first to present projected moving pictures to a paying audience were the Lumière brothers in December 1895 in Paris. That’s why today we are having an unusual lesson – it is devoted to cinema. You can see the theme and the plan of our lesson on the blackboard.

2. But, as usual, let’s start with pronunciation. There are sheets of paper on your tables, take them. Let’s pronounce the words from exercise №1.   Repeat them after the tape. Thank you.

3. The next step of our lesson is lexical warm-up. Do you like watching movies? Where do you usually watch them?  How often do you go to the cinema?  What kind of films do you prefer? Tell us about a  movie you like. The prompt on the screen will help you (exercise №2). Thank you for sharing your opinion.

4. The next part of our lesson is matching. Let’s see what happens in different types of films. Take your papers again. Exercise № 3. The same exercise you can see on the screen. Read it. You should match the types of films with what happens in them. Let’s work all together. OK. Now do it in writing.

5. The next thing I want you to do is listening exercise №4.  You are going to listen to an interview and match the films with the opinions.

6. Now it’s time for grammar. First of all,  I want you to revise comparative and superlative adjectives. Do you remember the rule? Tell us how we form comparative and superlative adjectives.  Right you are. What irregular adjectives do you know? OK. Do the exercise №5. Ready? Well, the next thing we’ll do is gap filling. You should complete the sentence with the verbs in the correct form (exercise 6) Do it in writing. Are you ready? Let’s go further.

7. Now I’d like to check your homework. Your homework was to read the text about four famous directors. Have you read it? Have you found it interesting? Let’s work with the text. Could you name them? Will you read and translate the first part of the text. Thank you. Now you should match the directors A-D to the statements 1-6 (exercise 7).  Some directors match more than one statement.

8. And now it’s time for fun.  As our lesson devoted to cinema you are having an opportunity to watch a short movie. (watching movie “Unreal life”).

Did you like this film? Is it funny or sad? Why? What can you say about the main character of the film?

Is his real life happy?  I decided to show you this film because it’s about unreal life, but cinema, in some ways, is unreal kind of art. Don’t take it too serious.

9. The lesson is over now. Was it interesting? What new information have you learnt today? Have you got any difficulties? Thank you for your work. Hand in your papers. Your marks are…… Your homework is……
