Урок английского языка

в 7 классе по теме:

«Английский язык – язык мира»

Цель урока: актуализация знаний по теме «Английский язык – язык мира».

Задачи урока:  

- актуализировать материал по теме «Иностранные языки»;

- развивать умения в устной речи, аудировании, чтении;

- развивать общекультурные умения при систематизации и обобщении материала.

Оборудование: компьютер, проектор, презентация к уроку, аудиозапись, видеоролик.

Ход урока:

Приветствие: T: Good afternoon, dear children, glad to see you. Take your places, please, and begin our lesson.

Речевая разминка: How are you today? I hope some of you had to do with preparing for our lesson.

 Основная часть урока:

1. Warming-up

Учащиеся начинают урок с речевой разминки (Tongue Twister)

(проговариваем вместе и отдельно)ю Учащиеся знают скороговорки и вместе с учителем проговаривают самые любимые, по желанию разминку может вести любой из учащихся.

2. Актуализация лексических навыков.

T. So we begin our lesson with brain storm. Think over and say what your associations with the word «language» do you have? We have discussed in our lessons that English is really a global language. You have read, translated, listened to the dialogues, learnt some parts of the different texts. But now help me, please, to work with another ideas connected with such word as “language’”

T. On the sheets of paper we have these words and their definitions. I would like you to match them. 

Match the words and their definitions.

T: Let’s check our results. Repeat these phrases after me.

1. Развитие умений в говорении.

T. I know your homework was to read the texts about the meaning of the English language.

      Let us imagine that we are at the conference.You are the colleagues from different cities, from different countries but each of you can speak English. This language unites you.

      The students are meeting each other, speaking about their nationalities and countries and answering collegues’ questions.

T. Today we are going not only to speak English, we are going to speak about English. What is our lesson’s aim? P: are trying to answer.

T:  The main aim of our lesson is to prove we cannot imagine our  modern life without English.

Do you agree that English has really become the international language?

P.1 English is the most widespread language in the world and is more widely spoken and written than any other language.

P.2 English is the official language in some countries that means it is used in governments, in schools.

P.3 It is also used to solve different world problems.

T. Can you state that the role of English is great nowadays?

P.4 Yes, we can. We can call it as a mother tongue, an official, an international, a foreign, a modern and widespread language.

T. So, we have proved that English is the world language.

 But there is one more reason why English can also be called the world or international language.

2. Развитие умений в аудировании

T. Now we should listen to the part of the dialogue to know how these students are planning to use English in the future. Open the student’s books (p.75).

What are their ideas? What are your plans? How are you planning to use English in the future?

3. Физминутка.

T. Are you tired? Listen to the song «Sweet dreams»/ Children are dancing, singing, having a rest.

T. I would like you to read the text and try to understand what the text is about. (Распечатки)

Nowadays English has become the world's most important language in politics and science. It is the official language of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the United States of America, of Australia and New Zealand. English is used as one of the official languages in Canada, the Republic of South Africa and the Irish Republic.

It is also spoken as a second language by many people in India, Pakistan. The number of second-language speakers may soon exceed the number of native speakers, if it has not done so already. The working languages of the United Nations are English and French. All documents are written only in the working languages. English has become now the language of international communication. At present no other language on Earth is better suited to play the role of world language.

People who speak English fall into one of three groups: those who have learnt it as their native language, those who have learnt it as a second language in a society which is mainly bilingual and those who are force to use it for a practical purpose - professional or educational. Nowadays when science and technology are progressing so fast all kind of specialists need English in their work.

Questions for detail reading:

1. What countries have English as an official language?

2. What countries have English as a second language?

3. Divide speakers into 3 groups, according to the text.

4. Развитие навыков закрепления грамматического явления.

We have learned such Tense as Present Perfect. It is time to consolidate our knowledge. The students are working with the exercises. (опираясь на доску), записывают правильные предложения в тетрадях.

5. Развитие умений самооценивания и саморегуляции.

The students have Progress Cards(на карточках учащиеся выставляют себе оценки за четыре формы деятельности на уроке  (аудирование, говорение, чтение, письмо)

T. Is it difficult to learn English, what do you think? What characteristics should a person have to be successful in learning foreign languages? (Учащиеся говорят о личностных характеристиках, необходимых для изучения иностранных языков).

T. They say there are different ways to learn foreign language. Some people travel and meet English-speaking people; others read English books in the original and watch videos. Which way is the best? Time will show.

T. As for me, I think the best way of learning English is going to English-speaking countries and communicating with the English. And (хором) “Practice makes perfect”

6. Заключительный этап.

T. So, our lesson is finishing. We have worked well. We have proved that English is the language of the world, found out the reasons, ways and necessary characteristics for learning English. What can you say about our lesson (учащиеся высказывают свое мнение об уроке) Your marks are…Thanks for a work, see you next lesson.

7. But have in your mind that your homework is…to write why it is important to know English – “English is a language of the world” –сочинение-рассуждение с опорой на образец (вступление, основная часть, заключение).
