Тема урока: ”Christmas in Great Britain”

Цели урока:  Провести практику речевой деятельности,  развивать навыки  чтения, аудирования, активизировать лексику по теме. Повысить мотивацию учащихся к изучению английского языка. Воспитывать у обучающихся чувство уважения к истории и культуре изучаемого языка, активизировать коммуникативные навыки учащихся.

Задачи урока:

           Познавательные УУД

  • Создать условия для развития умения осуществлять поиск информации в тексте.
  • Развивать умение выделять главную информацию в тексте.
  • Формировать умение анализировать, синтезировать и сравнивать информацию.

Регулятивные УУД

  • Формировать умение постановки цели работы на уроке.
  • Формировать умение оценивать свою работу на уроке на разных этапах.

          Коммуникативные УУД

  • Формировать умение строить устное высказывание в соответствие с коммуникативной задачей.
  • Формировать умение формулировать свое мнение в зависимости от коммуникативной задачи.
  • Использовать Сингапурскую методику обучения для  формирования умений  работать в группах.

  • Взаимодействовать со сверстниками,
  • Уметь сдерживать свои эмоции

Ход урока

I Beginning.

Приветствие учителя. Определение настроя и готовности к работе.

- Good morning, children! I’m very glad to see you. I’m your teacher of English in this lesson. My name is Yulia Fedorovna. How are you? I hope you are fine. Are you ready to start?

The theme of our lesson is “Christmas in Great Britain”. (слайд 1)  Can you translate it?

On previous lessons you learnt a lot of information about it and now let’s review it.

II Revision

Let’ play  “RoundRobin” «Карусель»

На доске:  Why do you like Christmas?  

We need:  “It was nice listening to you!”

                 “Thank you!”

1. Imagine that you are not Russian, you are British.  Answer the question: “Why do you like Christmas?”  You can choose from the list. Please, write your answer on the  activity card 1. I’ll give you 1 minute for this task.  Is it clear? (Timer)

2. Now everybody will have 15 seconds to say (not to read) your answers to other partners in the group. Numbers 1, raise your hands! You are the first! Tell, please! (Timer)

3. Students number 4! Say to number 1: “It was nice listening to you!” Number 1, answer: “Thank you!”

4. Now write what you’ve heard!

Use the following:

                                                      it is fun

Don't forget the correct form of the verb (in 3rd person singular we must add s)

 30 seconds! (Timer)

And now try to tell the class what you’ve written! Who can do it?

5. Numbers 2, raise your hands! You’ll have 15 seconds to say (not to read) your answers to other partners in the group. (Timer) 

Students number 1! Say to number 2: “It was nice listening to you!” Number 2, answer: “Thank you!”

And now give yourself a mark! Please, collect the activity cards1!

IV Speaking

1. Christmas is the most favorite festival. But there are a lot of other festivals and holidays in Britain. (слайд 2) 

Firstly, let’s remember the other British holidays and festivals. Repeat after me!  Vocabulary (слайды 3)

2.  Secondly try to guess what holidays and festivals I am speaking about.  (слайд 4)

 (Mother’s Day, Christmas, Easter, the New Year Day, Halloween, St. Valentine’s Day)

1. On this day children give flowers, sweets, cards and presents to their mothers to show their love and care.  It’s Mother’s Day. Say it in Russian!

2. When children find their gifts in stockings, it’s…. Christmas. Say it in Russian!

3. If people dye eggs, it’s … Easter. Say it in Russian!

4. When people decorate the fir tree, it’s… the New Year Day. Say it in Russian!

5. If people decorate their houses with pumpkins, it’s …. Halloween. Say it in Russian!

6. If you get a card where somebody tells you that she or he loves you, it’s… St. Valentine’s Day. Say it in Russian!

V Reading.  (слайд 5) Now you are going to read the text. Take activity card 2. Read the headings to the parts of the text!  Read the information about different holidays and match the parts of the text with their headings. Fill in the table below the text.

Now let’ check! Which heading matches to text 1? Put attention on the date of the holiday.

6.     This holiday usually comes in the month of April.  Many people use the day to to decorate  eggs, share chocolate eggs and participate in egg competitions. It is the time for for holidays and festivals. Слайд 11

7. From the 19th Century to the present day, 31st October has a reputation as a night on which ghost, witches, and fairies are especially active. There are a loy of costume parties where people dress up as witches, ghosts, and animal figures. Слайд 12

8. Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary) was born on 21 April, 1926 in London. Her birthday is officially celebrated in Britain on the second Saturday of June each year. There is  the Queen’s Birthday Parade on this day. The Queen's Official birthday. Слайд 13
