Для того что бы узнать тему нашего урока я предлагаю вам выполнить следующе задание. Look at the blackboard, please. On the blackboard you can see sounds and words with these sounds. Start read them. The first sound is [t].

So, we always have a lot of associations when we speak about New Year and Christmas. And we can’t imagine New Year without the beautiful New Year Tree. Do you decorate the New Year Tree at home? Well, let’s also decorate the New Year Tree in our classroom.  Но для того что бы украсить нашу ёлку вам нужно выполнить мой задания и за каждый правильный ответ вы будете получать игрушку. Вы согласны выполнять задания?

Нам нужно угадать любимое время года волшебника. Но для этого нам нужно расшифровать слова которые у нас написаны на кубиках.  И затем из выделенных букв составить нужное нам слово.

3 кубик - u n t –We like to it this fruit in cakes and chocolate. –nut -n

4 кубик – u k y t r e – It is traditional Christmas food in Great Britain. – turkey -t

What do you know about traditions to celebrate Christmas or New Year in Great Britain and Russia?

Р1:  Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25. Christmas is a time for eating. The traditional food is turkey, Christmas pudding made of fruit. Candles at Christmas also go back to those times. People believed then that their light helped them to forget the darkness of winter. Now Christmas tree stands in everybody’s living room at Christmas.

P2: In Russia the first holiday of the year is New Year’s Day. There are a lot of New Year traditions in Russia. In every home there is a New Year tree with lights and decorations. Children always wait for Father Frost to come and give them a present. Many people think New Year’s day to be a family holiday.

P3: There is a funny tradition connected with the New Year: The First Foot. This is the first visitor to enter a house on N Y's morning. He is a person of great importance. The First Foot must be a man because it is believed that if a woman first sets foot in the house, bad luck will follow throughout the year. Traditionally, the first visitor of the year must carry food, drink and coal into the house. Coal helps to make a fire in midwinter and there shall never be lack of food and drink during the coming year.
