урока по английскому языку, проведенного в 8 классе

по теме « Ecology»

(«Экология»)

                                                          Ульяновск


УМК: Биболетова М.З., Трубанева Н.Н.  Английский с удовольствием/ Enjoy English: Учебник для 8 кл. общеобраз. учрежд.

Цели:

  • тренировка лексического материала по теме “Environment”;
  • проверка знаний и умений монологической речи;
  • развитие коммуникативных умений и навыков в процессе общения на языке;
  • умение  подготовить связанное высказывание по теме;
  • формировать мотивацию к изучению английского языка;
  • развитие дедуктивного мышления,   воображения,  способности к распределению и переключению внимания, к сравнению и сопоставлению, развитие познавательного интереса учащихся;
  • воспитание умения работать в сотрудничестве;
  • воспитывать бережное отношение к  природе и окружающей среде.

Оснащение: карточки с заданиями, ватман, клей,  картинки  по теме « Окружающая среда», «Проблемы окружающей среды», карточки со словами по теме, УМК Биболетова М.З., Трубанева Н.Н.  Английский с удовольствием/ Enjoy English:Учебник для 8 кл. общеобраз. учрежд.

                                                               Ход урока

 I. Организация класса и речевая зарядка.

-  Hello! I’m glad to see you today. How are you?

-  What day is it today?

We are very glad to meet you here. Today we are going to have a talk about the problems of our environment protection. We also hope that the problems we will touch are very important, you are not indifferent to them. You will enjoy with us today, we are sure.

II Фонетическая зарядка

1    Чтение и отработка звуков

       The Earth is a garden.
      It is a beautiful place
      For all living creatures,
      For all human race.

2   Read and write  (работа с карточками, отработка лексики по теме “Environment”.  Чтение и перевод словосочетаний.)

 Human beings, Land   pollution, stop using   carbon dioxide, make much garbage,      

burn  gasoline,  release invisible gases  into the air, damage     the ozone layer  by gases,

plant trees, drive our cars less, save energy cut down the amount of garbage we make,

produce less garbage, turn off all the lights,   travel     everywhere by   car ,   separate all your rubbish….

III Основной этап

1) Отработка must /mustn’t. Put these words into two columns and make up sentences.. (Распределить слова и словосочетания по колонкам, составить предложения (слова и словосочетания написаны на карточках)

 burn  gasoline ,     release invisible gases  into the air,    stop using carbon dioxide, damage the ozone layer  by gases,        make much garbage,        recycle paper,    reduce chemical    waste ,   stop making acid rains,    plant trees,    drive our cars less,   save energy,  produce less garbage,   turn off all the lights, travel everywhere by car, separate all your rubbish,    recycle your rubbish,   put your litter in a rubbish bin, throw your litter away on the  ground    wherever you are,  leave fires in the forest,     feed  birds  and animals.

2)  Создание постера по теме «Защита окружающей среды»

a) Now we have two groups. You need а whatman paper, markers, glue to make a poster about environmental problems. (Класс делится на две группы и делает постеры на тему Environmental problems, выбирает картинки, иллюстрирующие различным виды загрязнения, подписывают их, при  этом одна команда должна закончить предложение People must…, другая- People mustn’t ….)

b) Now, tell about different kinds of pollution

 Защита постеров -  монологическая речь, ученики  выступают с сообщениями по теме Environmental problems/Different kinds of pollution.

Сообщения учащихся  по темам: Land Pollution. Air Pollution.  Water Pollution.   Acid Rains.   The Greenhouse Effect. The Ozone Hole.

We’ve discussed ecological problems and you see people destroy our planet. The Earth need our protection. It’s our responsibility to preserve the Earth for ourselves and for future generations

IV  Тренировка грамматического материала.

Ok thank you. Now let’s discuss what we would do for our environment.

A) повторение типов условных предложений, используется таблица.

Б) Задание:Finish sentences.(закончите предложения)

C) Put the verbs in brackets into the gaps. Form conditional sentences.

1) If the weather(to be) nice, they  (to play) football.

2) If we  (to go) to a good restaurant, we  (to have) a better dinner.

3) If John  (to learn) more words, he  (to write) a good report.

4) If the boys  (to take) the bus to school, they  (to arrive) on time.

5) If the teacher  (to explain) the homework, I  (to do) it.

6) If they  (to wait) for another 10 minutes, they  (to see) the pop star.

7) If the police  (to come) earlier, they  (to arrest) the burglar.

8) If you  (to buy) fresh green vegetable, your salad  (to taste) better.

V Homework  SB № 22 p.46: Complete the sentences, putting the verbs into the correct form.

VI Итоги: You were great. I like your working today. You were very active. As for your marks, they are …. Stand up please. The lesson is over.

Land Pollution.

The main reason of pollution is rubbish. Most of our rubbish goes to big holes in the ground, called ‘dumps’, or landfill, where the garbage truck empties it to into the ground. But dumps(куча) are very dangerous for our life because they are full of rats, which can carry infections away from dumps. Another way to get rid of rubbish is to burn it. But the fires make poisons, which go into the air and pollute it.Now we are making so much garbage that in many places, there is not enough room to bury it all. We have to act fast and cut down the amount of garbage we make.We can recycle and reject. If we recycle and reject we will produce a lot less garbage, and help keep our planet green.

Air Pollution

Since ancient times nature has served man, being the source of his life. About 200 years ago the air was clean. But with the development of civilization man's interference in nature began to increase. Large cities have appeared all over the world today. The product of their activity pollutes the air we breathe. Today the air is so polluted in some places that it’s not always safe to breathe there.Every year world industry pollutes the atmosphere with about 1000 million tons of dust and harmful substances. Many cities suffer from smog. This is so strong in some places that the air, which should be a beautiful blue, looks brown.The increase in traffic is threatening serious air pollution in our cities, because vehicles, not factories, produce most of toxic micro-particles(частицы), which do most harm. Toxic gases appear in the atmosphere in critical concentration of carbon dioxide is expected to increase at rates that could change the world’s climate. The  air pollution comes from the cigarette smoke, which pollutes public places.So it’s very important for us to “clean up our act”, and clean up the air we all breathe.

 Water Pollution.

The planet Earth is mostly water. All our life depends on the water. But we are not doing a very good job of keeping water clean.Rivers and lakes are polluted by garbage or by poisonous chemicals which are dumped right into them.Underground water can be polluted by gasoline or by harmful liquids that seep into the ground.The seas are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The Mediterranean is already nearly dead; the North Sea is following. The Aral Sea is on the brink of extinction. If nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas.

Acid Rains.

Another source of global danger is acid rain.It is a relatively new kind of pollution. When power plants burn coal to make electricity, and when cars burn gasoline, invisible gases are released into the air. Some of these gases mix with water and make it acidic. Some times the gases get into rain clouds, where they get mixed with rain or snow. Acid rains appeared as a reaction of the atmosphere to the air contamination. Acid rains damage water, forest, and soil resources. Acid rains cause the disappearance of fish from many lakes; bring death to the forests and woods in Europe and America.It’s very important for us to stop making acid rains. We must drive our cars less, to save energy. The less energy we use, the less coal those power plants will have to burn.

The Greenhouse Effect.

What caused the "greenhouse effect"?The "greenhouse effect" is caused by carbon dioxide, which prevents heat from escaping. Global warming or the "greenhouse effect" can cause melting of the polar ice caps, raising of the sea level, and flooding of the coastal areas of the world. There is every reason to fear that such a climatic change may take place.If the earth’s temperature gets hotter by just a few degrees, it could change the weather all over the planet in many ways.

 The Ozone Hole.

Up in the sky, above the air we breathe, there’s a layer of gas called ozone. It helps us by blocking out the sun rays that can harm our skin, and by letting the rays that are good for us come through.Now the ozone layer is being damaged by gases that people have made. The gases are called CFCs. They are used in refrigerators, air conditioners, plastic foam and some other things.The CFCs float up to the top of the atmosphere, where the ozone layer is, and “eat up” the ozone. It increases the risk of skin cancer, weakens the immune system of people.Scientists are very concerned about the ozone layer, because a lot of it has gone away in just a few years.
