Тема урока: Откуда столько мусора?

Цели: развитие  навыков  аудирования  и изучающего чтения;

Введение и первичное закрепление новой лексики по теме "Загрязнение окружающей среды"

Оборудование: записи на доске, компьютер, магнитофон.

ХОД УРОКА

1.Организационный момент

-Good morning, dear friends!

-Good morning, dear teacher!

-I am glad to see you.

-I am glad to see you, too.-

-How are you today?

-We are fine, thank you.

-Today you will continue discussing the ecological problems and the ways out of the situation. That’s why you need to learn some more new words. Then we read some interesting information about the environmental problems.

II.Фонетическая разминка.

-But before it do some phonetical  exercises. Open your workbooks at page 31, ex.1.

Pronounce the words correctly. Use the transcription.

P1,P2,P3.

-Concult your vocabularies to translate the words. The words "kilogram" and "polythene" are international words. We can easily translate them without a dictionary.

III.Речевая разминка.

-Using the words answer the questions. Open your textbooks at p.50.See ex.37.Look at the pictures and give your ideas.

IV.Обучение лексике.

-We need more words to speak about the rubbish. First look at the words in ex.38.p.50.Listen to them and learn to pronounce.

-Are they international words?(Yes, they are.)

-Why?(Because we can translate the  without a dictionary.)

-Study the words from ex.39,p.50.Translate the word combinations. Read them after me first.

-Translate the words in a chain.

Keys;

be(strictly)prohibited-быть(строго)запрещенным;

prohibition-запрет;

recyclable-перерабатываемый;

recycled paper-переработанная бумага;

recycling-переработка;

a recycling centre-центр переработки;

to drop litter-выбрасывать мусор;

to clear litter (away)-убирать мусор;

rubbish/garbage-мусор.

a packet/a pack of envelopes/-biscuits.- упаковка конвертов/печенья

-Learn to use these word combinations. Work in pairs and make up your own sentences.

Учитель распределяет словосочетания между парами.

-Now read your sentence in English, other pupils will translate it.

V.Физкультминутка.

-I see that you are tired. Let's have a rest, stand up, please.

VI.Обучение чтению.

-We are going to read the texts "Why Throw away so Much?" and " Packaging."

Look at the photos. Say what you think these texts are about? Use the new words.(To my mind, in my opinion, in the first photo we see a recycling centre, they recycle the rubbish. In the second photo we see a lot of litter. I am sure, the text is about why people throw away the rubbish.)

-In pairs read only one of the texts and say if you were right. Prepare questions to your partner about what he has read. The first question may be" What is the main idea of the text?" Look at the blackboard. Use the schemes and think of other questions.

Примерные вопросы;

What is recycling (packaging)?

How many cans do people throw away in one year?

How much plastic waste do people produce?

What can we do to solve the problem?

-Now report to the class what we have learnt about the partner's text. Use the questions as a plan.

-Read both texts and find out if you have understood everything. There are some words that you don't understand. Work on them at home. Use the strategies from ex.41,p.51.

VII.Подведение итогов урока.

-What new words have you learnt? Can people protect the EARTH from the rubbish? How? Do you throw away packaging? You have done much work today. The lesson is over. Good bye!
