       Тема: Стереотипы Британцев

     Задачи: Повторить и обобщить изученный материал по теме «Британцы»,

                    развивать монологические высказывания по теме «Стереотипы

                    мордовскоко народа», учить учащихся делать выводы, развивать навыки

                    дискуссии по теме «Действительно ли стереотипы раскрывают характер

                    нации?».

Ход урока

1. Оргмомент.

Today we’ll remember all we know about the British, we’ll speak about the Mordovian and try to give the most distinguishing characteristics of the nation. And then we’ll discuss if stereotypes really reveal the character of a people (a nation).

2. Повторение и обобщение изученного материала.

Please, answer my questions:

1. What is a stereotype?
2. Do you think it is a dangerous thing to judge about a people or a nation by existing stereotypes?
3. How do you think you can better understand and appreciate the British character?

And now using the information in the texts let’s answer the questions in ex. 17, p. 35.

(The pupils answer the questions).

3. Развитие навыков монологической речи.

Now we know much information about the British people, about their culture and traditions. We know how the four nations which form the British people distinct from each other. At home you were to find the information and speak about the Mordovian people. Let’s do it now and mark the most distinguishing characteristics of the Mordovian and try to make a stereotype picture of the nation.

       (4-5 pupils speak about the Mordovian).

4. Развитие навыков дискуссии.

1. Now let’s discuss if stereotypes really reveal the character of a people (a nation). But firstly we’ll read about Briton’s opinions concerning stereotyped associations in ex. 18, p. 37. and then give impressions of  the nation.
2. Ex. 19, p. 37, the pupils say if visitors can get a true idea of a country by following certain touring routes, if the country which is shown to holiday-makers and tourists is different from the country seen by its own citizens and how their viewpoint can differ.
3. It’s high time to make a round table discussion “Do stereotypes really reveal the character of a people (a nation)?

(The pupils give their own opinions and discuss the others).

5. Заключительная часть урока. Подведение итогов.

Our lesson is over. We worked very productive today, we spoke much about stereotyped associations of the British and the Mordovian people. Your home task will be to give a stereotype picture of the Russian. Good-bye.
