Разработка урока  по теме WESTERN DEMOCRACIES. ARE THEY DEMOCRATIC?

(Формирование лексико –грамматических навыков говорения)

10 класс

Цели урока:

Познавательный аспект – сравнение между собой   политических устройств Великобритании, США и России.

Учебный аспект – формирование лексических навыков  говорения по данной теме.

Развивающий аспект –  развитие способности к сравнению  и  сопоставлению политических строев трех государств.

Воспитательный аспект – подвести учащихся к мысли, что демократия и свобода – это не вседозволенность, а свобода действий в рамках закона. Помочь учащимся понять, каким должен быть политик в действительности в политическом государстве.

Ход урока

I. Подготовка учащихся к деятельности на иностранном языке

  1. Организационный момент.
  2. Фонетическая зарядка

Theacher: Answer the questions:

-What country do you live in?

-Is Russia a monarchy or a Republic?

-Who is the Head of State in Russia?

-What is the Great Britain?

-Who is the Head of State in the USA?

-What are the Houses of the British Parliament?

-Who has more power: the British Queen or the President of the USA?

-Who does the Americans elect?

-Which political system is more democratic?

II. Комплексное применение знаний

1. Групповая работа (упр. 3, стр. 47)

Students compare the US and British governmental systems in small groups then they share their ideas with the whole class. Students start with the ideas from the box and find the corresponding facts. They can make notes in the table.

  1. The Queen is the head of State.

the Prime Minister is the leader of the government and the leader of the party with the majority seats in the House of Commons.

2)The Cabinet includes the ministers in charge of major government departments or ministries.

3)Parliament is made up of two chambers – the House of Commons and the House of  Lords.

4) The House of Commons consists of 650 elected MPs. The House of Lords consists of over 1100 permanent non – elected members.

2.Sum up

To sum up the information about Russia s  state system, arrange a contest between two student s teams. Each team chooses seven questions and answers them. They get one point for each right answer. If one team can not answer, pass the question to the other team.
