Тема урока: WelcometoGubkin

Цели урока:

Познавательный аспект: знакомство обучающихся с достопримечательностями Губкина, с популярными брендами Белгородской области

Развивающий аспект: развитие способности обучающихся к логическому изложению содержания высказывания, развитие коммуникативных навыков, умения осуществлять репродуктивные и продуктивные речевые действия

Воспитательный аспект: формирование патриотического отношения и чувства гордости к своему родному краю, способности работать в группе

Учебный аспект: развитие речевых умений по всем видам речевой деятельности

Сопутствующие задачи: развитие умения воспринимать на слух и читать с целью извлечения конкретной информации

Оборудование: Компьютерная презентация, карточки с заданиями, виды Губкина, карта Белгородской области

Ход урока

  1. Организационный момент

Теасher:  Hello dear friends! Nice to meet you! Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. A lot of guests visited us. They want to know how well you learn English and communicate. Let’s greet them.

Теасher: Not long ago I received a video letter from my English pen-pal. I want you to listen to it and say what is Alice going to do?

Hello!

My name is Alice. I’m from the UK. I live in London. It is my native town. I think it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I’m happy that I live here. There are a lot of interesting sights in London to see. Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the London Tube are better compared to others. You would be nuts to miss a chance to see them. Big Ben is one of a kind. It attracts many tourists. It is a visiting cart of London.

I would like to visit Russia. As far as I know, your country is packed with many wonderful places. What place would you advise me to visit?

Теасher: So, what is Alice going to do?

Pupil : She is going to visit Russia.

Теасher: Howdo you think what place we can recommend her to visit?

Children:I’d advise Alice to visit Moscow. Moreover, I recommend her to visit Belgorod. As for me, I will offer her to come to Gubkin.

Теасher:I agree with you. To my mind,Gubkin is worth seeing. Therefore, as you see, we are going to speak about our native town. In addition, the topic of our today’s lesson is “Welcome to Gubkin”

Теасher:Аnd now it’s time to brush up your phonetics. For phonetic drill,we will take a poem about the life in our town. Be attentive and try to understand what the people will wish to the guests of our town.

It seems to me our town is worth visiting looking through this Word Web. And why? Give arguments. Do not forget about the structure “adjective + infinitive”.   Let us work in chain.

- Dear ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to our Gubkin sightseeing tour. I will be your guide. My name is… I am very pleased to meet you. First I’d like to give you a few general facts about Gubkin. Its history goes back to 1939. Today it is one of the main economic centers of our region.

- Iron ore is a symbol of our town

- It was called in favor of the well-known Russian academician Ivan MihailovichGubkin

- The monument in Lazarev Street is devoted to the Bulgarian builders who have lived and worked in our town

- the highest Twin towers are situated in Zhuravliki district and they have got 16 floors

- The main sport attractions in Gubkin are the sport palace “Crystal”, the swimming pool “Dolphin” and the stadium “ Gornyak”, which have a lot of facilities for sport

- There are 4 churches in Gubkin, the main of which is Spaso- Preobrazhenskiy Cathedral in Zhuravliki

Gubkin is my native town

There are many places all over the Russian Federation. However, there is no better place for me like (as) Gubkin. I do not want to live anywhere else but in my town. I was born here and I am not going to leave it. My town is young. It was founded in 1939. First, it was a little settlement near a mine and then it became a town. Gubkin has an interesting history, traditions and customs. I am proud of my town and want it always to be beautiful and clean.

9.Чтение текста об И.М. Губкине

There are manythings, which make our town well known. But the most important is iron ore. I.M.Gubkin was the first who found it in our area. I want you to read the text about him and answer the question why was our town named in his favour.

10. Физкультминутка

Gubkin is not only famous for its mineral resources. It is popular with its sport achievements. I am sure that many of you are football fans. Nowwe will have a minute rest and play football as well using our eyes.

Теасher:  Gubkin is also an industrial and cultural centre of our district. I want you to tell us as much as possible about it. Now make home groups of four and listen to the tasks for each group.

Group 1 has to make a story about the most interesting town sight.

Group 2 has to write an advertisement to make my pen pal to come to Gubkin

Group 3 has to write the answer to Alice’s letter

Start to do the following activity.You will have 5 minutes in your disposal.

You have learnt much about Gubkin at our today’s lesson. Nowit is time for the test. Try to choose the right answer.

Теасher: Today we have built a bridge between Russia and the UK. I am sure that Alice will choose our town and come to see us. And later we are going to continue the dialogue of two cultures and our relations will be more reliable.

Nowit is time to finish our lesson. I want you to show your attitude towards the lesson. You have two Suns (one is merry, the other is sad). Which of theseSuns will you choose after the lesson? Demonstrate your choice. As I can see, most students have chosen merry Suns. And we can make the conclusion that you like our lesson.
