3. Учитель: Now you must listen to me very attentively.  

Цель: Развитие навыков аудирования  и говорения.

There are very many cars, trolleybuses and trams in the street. A man is standing just in the middle of the street. He asks the militiaman: “What is the shortest and the quickest way to the hospital?”  The militiaman answers: “If you just stand where you are standing now, you will get there very quickly. This is the shortest and the quickest way to the hospital”.

     Answer my question: “What is the  shortest and the quickest way to the hospital?”  

(An answer: If you don’t know traffic rules in the town or in the city, you  will get to the hospital  very very quickly.)

      Well, now remember  Road safety: (См. Приложение 2)

       You should/ must cross the street at the crossing.

        You should / must cross the street when the light is green.

            You should/ must first look   right when you cross the street in Great Britain.

Should you first look left or right when you cross the street in our country (in Russia)?

(An answer:  We should first look left when we cross the street in Russia.)  

(Ответ повторить два раза все вместе).

7. Town is a great place where you can be lost. So you must ask right questions walking  about town (city).  

        So,  now read and remember grammar discoveries: prepositions – where to?

                   Up/down  -  Go up this street, then turn left.

      Along  -       There are flowers all along the  road to my grandma’s house.

     (A)round –   The tourists walked around the Tower yesterday.

      Through -    I hate driving through the city during the rush hour.

      Across  -       My silly puppy ran across the road.  

      At the end (of the street)  -  What’s there at the end of the street?

     At/ on the  corner (of the street) - Let’s meet at the corner of  our street at 8 o’clock.

      At the traffic lights – All the cars have stopped  at the traffic lights.

       Write down these words prepositions in your vocabulary.
