Цели: Развитие коммуникативных навыков учащихся.

Задачи:

  1. Образовательная: активизировать познавательную деятельность учащихся. Контроль усвоенного материала.
  2. Развивающая: развивать творческие способности учащихся, навыки аудирования, монологической и диалогической речи.
  3. Воспитательная: повысить интерес учащихся к общению на иностранном языке, развивать навыки и умение работать в команде.

Оснащение урока: мультимедийная установка с экраном, карточки с раздаточным материалом.

Ход урока:

  1. Greetings!
  2. Warm up (Kinds of sports) Today We are going to talk about sports. I think a lot of people like doing sports and almost all of us like watching it. What about you? I’m sure you know a lot of kinds of sports. Can you remember them?

  1. OK. Now let’s talk about sports equipment.  Look at the screen. You can see a lot of items for different sports. Please name them and tell us what sport they are for.

  1. Listening. You can see 6 kinds of sports on the screen.

(Slide 3)

Listen to four commentators. What sport are they giving comments on (students’ answers).

  1. All of us like watching sports competitions. I believe the Olympic Games are the most important competitions in the world. Without doubt, all the sportsmen dream of taking part in them.

Why are they called the Olympic Games?

What about you? Which sports events do you like watching? At the last lesson you read the article about thesewonderful games.Comment the slides answering the questions.

  1. Reading. All the Olympic champions started their careers when they were children. They had to train a lot and practise every day.

 I want you to read about a very busy boy who does a lot of different sports. Read the text and do the task. (Children’s answers) I believe this boy is able to be an Olympic champion in the future.

  1. Listening. Now I’d like you to talk to Peter. You can hear his questions. Try to answer them. (Children should complete the conversation with Peter).

Peter:         Hello. How are you?

Peter:        I’m very tired. Today is my sports day. I go swimming in the morning and then I play football in the afternoon. Do you do any sports.

You:         ……………………….

Peter:        Oh, really? I like sports a lot. My favourite sport is badminton. Do you have a favourite sport?

You:         ……………………….

Peter:        I’m in the school badminton team.  Are you in a team?

You:         ……………………….

Peter:        In my school, people play football a lot. What sports do people play in your school?

You:         ……………………….

Peter:        I like watching football on television. Do you like watching sports on television?

You:         ……………………….

Peter:        That’s interesting. Oh, look at the time! I’ve got a football game now. Bye!

  1. Speaking. It’s interesting to know whose hobby is sport. Tell us about yourself. What sport do you do? Why did you choose it? Who helped you to choose it? When did you start it? How long have you been doing it? How successful are you in it? (Children’s reports)
  2. It doesn’t matter if you watch or do sports anyway it makes you friendlier, faster, stronger, more cooperative and competitive. Listen to «Ode to sport» by Pier de Coubertin.
