Тема мероприятия: “Types of Proprietorship: the sole proprietorship, the partnership, the corporation”. «Типы собственности: частная собственность, партнёрство, корпорация»).

Цели мероприятия:

Дидактическая: активизация лексического материала по теме «Типы собственности».

Воспитательная: формирование познавательной активности; формирование потребности в практическом использовании языка в различных сферах деятельности.

Развивающая: интеллектуальное и эмоциональное развитие учащихся; развитие языковых и познавательных способностей.

           Оборудование мероприятия: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, экран.

Методическое обеспечение занятия: дидактический материал    (карточки с заданиями), слайд-презентация.

Конкурсная программа мероприятия

4. Конкурсы по теме «Частная собственность» (“The Sole Proprietorship”): поиск эквивалентов, поиск слов в цепочках, инсценировка диалога.

Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to our Club of the Merry and Quickwitted! Today we are discussing types of proprietorship: the sole proprietorship, the partnership and the corporation. I hope our discussion will be merry and interesting.

You have a good opportunity today to revise your knowledge and, of course, you may take part in our competition. You must support our participants by clapping. And now let me invite our teams

Sole Proprietorship

A: Hi, … . How are you getting on?

B: Fine as usual, thanks … .What about you?

A: I’m OK.

B: Can you give me a piece of advice?

A: Well, I’ll try if I can.

B: You know I’ve been always good at … . I’m thinking of starting my own business … .

A: It might be a good idea.

B: Are you going into business by yourself?

A: Exactly. I’d like to have a … with my name on it, where I make the decisions and where I control the profits.

B: Oh, I’ll try to help you. If you go into business by yourself it is called sole proprietorship.

A: In such case you needn’t consult a lawyer to form the business.

B: Sure. It sounds encouraging.

A: You decide on your vocation, hours, salary, hiring and firing.

B: Well, that’s not bad.

A: Wait a moment. I believe I have to tell you about the risk involved.

B: What do you mean?

A: First of all the most important risk is that you have unlimited liability.

B: Oh, I can loose my personal assets. What other things should I know?

A: You won’t get tax benefits, you have to hire a book-keeper.

B: I can’t say anything definite about that.

A:You have to think it over.

B:OK, you are right as usual.

Ведущий: (игра со зрителями). Now, dear friends, let’s play together. We’ll see if you know well advantages and disadvantages of the sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation.

You must know the rules. They are very easy. First of all, have you got hands? Rise your right (left) hand! OK! Now the rules: if you think it is advantage, rise your left hand. If it is disadvantage – right one.

B: Everything is all right too. In fact I want to talk to you about my business.

A: Oh, I’ll be glad to do something for you.

B: Well, … . I need some legal advice. We are thinking of incorporating.

A: You are going to expand, aren’t you?

B: Oh, yes. We have a success. So could you explain me what sort of legal procedure I have to follow to form a corporation?

A: At first you have to apply for a corporate charter.

B: Well. What should I do after I obtain the charter?

A: Then you hold a meeting to organize the corporation.

B: Does that mean we elect our Board of Directors, adopt bylaws and choose the company’s officers?

A: That’s what I mean. By the way the stockholders always have final authority.
