1.Introduction

Music is an integral part of human life. It accompanies a person during his whole life and it is very important when a person enjoys his favorite music. There are various musical styles, musical groups and directions.

In my opinion, there are musical groups and bands,  that have  an important place on the music scene.

These are the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Scorpions, and of course the Queen .

My favorite band is the British band Queen.

The music of this group continues to captivate millions of people, even 30 years after the death of the main singer.

Queen's music is like a good video. It is not surprising that different musicians around the world are constantly turning to the creative heritage of the legendary band.

The relevance of the work is to answer the questions:

Why is this group always popular?

Why are the melodies and lyrics so clear and close to ordinary people?

The object of the study is a British musical group.

The subject of the study is the activity and biographical dates of the Queen.

Research method – the search and research  methods, the  creative translation, work with the Internet, literature and other sources of information.

2. History of the band.

Whatever term is applied to the group "Queen" - cult, legendary, popular - each will accurately reflect the attitude of fans and critics. The music team is a classical team are performing music in the style of Hard and Pop rock combined with Glam and Jazz.

The idea of "should we start a band" first came to students at Imperial College in London, Brian Harold May and Timothy Staffel. The guys gave the Name "1984" to a new team inspired by the novel by George Orwell. In the College guys found the drummer Roger Meddows Taylor.

The Queen appeared in the mid-1960s, when students Brian May and Tim Staffel decided to create a musical group, named after Orwell's novel  - 1984 .  Roger Taylor was the third member of "The 1984". A few years later, the band renamed themselves to "Smile"band.

Around this time, the band met Farrukh Bulsara, who was interested  in their work. During this year, their musical paths follow parallel straight lines. But  early in the year 1970th  Staffel left the Band, and then Taylor and may invited Farrukh as a vocalist.

 2. The name of the band.   

Did you know that the author of the logo of the famous British band Queen was Freddie Mercury himself?  It is surprising, but it is so.

And the characters inhabiting the coat of arms are a consequence of Mercury's passion for astrology and the ancient Iranian religion - Zoroastrianism. Freddie surrounded the crown with the zodiacal signs of all four band members.

Guitarist  Brian May is a Cancer by horoscope ;

The zodiac sign of  bassguitarist John Deacon is a Leo;

Drummer Roger Taylor is also a Leo by horoscope too;

And finally Freddie Mercury himself is a Virgo by the sign of the Zodiac.

 It is represented in the Logo by two figures of Fairies.

The band's musical style is Glam Rock, Pop rock, Hard rock.

3. The star composition of the band.

Freddie Mercury, the lead singer, was born on September the 5th , 1946 in Zanzibar.
In May 1966 he graduated  Ilesworth with a high mark in Painting, Freddie was interviewed at Ealing College of Art in London, where he began to study at the Department of the Graphic Illustration .
John Deacon, the bass guitarist of the band, born on August the19th , 1951 in Leicester, in the UK. Deacon joined in the group in the year 1971. He was the youngest in the group. He studied as an engineer  of mechanics.
Roger Taylor, the drummer of the band, born on July the 26th, 1949 in King Lynn, in the UK.
In age 8 years old, Taylor saw his cousin played the guitar and then  wanted to study this instrument. His first band called «The Bubblingover Boys». Taylor wanted to study the drums, and his father gave the drums to him . After school in October 1967, Taylor arrived in London to study as a dentist.
Brian May, the band`s guitarist, was born on July 19th, 1947 in Hampton, in the UK.
He began to play the guitar from the age of seven. He constructed with his father the   famous Red Special guitar. May graduated the Hampton School and the Department of Physics and Mathematics at Imperial College London.

4. Music albums, singles.

«Queen l» is the debut Studio album by the band, released on June 13, 1973 by EMI. It was recorded in 1971-1972 at De lane Lea studios. Most of the material on the album consisted of songs written by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor, but also in the album was the song «Doing All Right», created by Tim Staffell during the existence of the group-the predecessor of the «Queen» - «Smile».

«Sheer Heart Attack» is the band`s third studio album released on November 8th , 1974.

The first fame, as well as commercial success, came to the group with this record, and the song "Killer Queen" became their first big hit, reaching number two in England. The album itself also reached number two in the UK and number 12 on the 1975 Billboard charts.  

«A Night at the Opera» is the band`s fourth Studio album, released on December the 2nd , 1975. The album was a great success: it`s sales reached three million, and in the charts it stayed at the first position for nine weeks, which at that time was a record.

An interesting fact: Taylor very wanted to write the song «I'm In Love With My Car» on B side single «Bohemian Rhapsody», but  Mercury this desire not was ablaze. Then Roger locked himself in a wardrobe and sat there until Freddie finally agreed to include her in the single.
«News of the World» is the band's sixth Studio album, released on October the 28th , 1977.
he album sold ten million copies. His fame is mainly  provided by his first two compositions: «We Will Rock You» and «We Are the Champions». The latter singl   became a sports anthem, although it was not originally written for this purpose. «We Will Rock You» has been re-recorded and remade countless times, becoming something of a trademark . However, in most cases from the entire text there is only one chorus, but the song is easy to guess even without words.

«The Game» is the band's eighth Studio album, released on June  the 30th, 1980. The album was recorded in the Studio "Musicland" in Munich (Germany) from June 1979 to May 1980. This album was the first to use synthesizers.

An interesting fact: the song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" Freddie came up with in the bathroom.

«The Works» is the band's eleventh Studio album, released on February 27, 1984. The first album in the discography of Queen, published on CD.

The album was a kind of return to the roots. After an unsuccessful attempt to release a dance album, the band realizes that people want the old Queen with powerful heavy fast numbers like: «Now I'm Here», «Dead On Time», «Tie Your Mother Down», lyrical ballads like: «Love Of My Life», «Jealousy», hard rock ballads in the spirit of "waving the flag", «We Are The Champions», «In The Lap Of the Gods», Opera polyphony like: «The Prothet's Song», «Somebody To Love» and metal fast beats: «Stone Cold Crazy», «Let Me Entertain You». As Brian May said, «the Works» is «A Night At the Opera» with a few touches from «The Game».

Interesting fact: in the original version, the song was called "Radio Ca-Ca" - this phrase was uttered by Roger Taylor's little child. Taylor wrote the song for his solo album, locking himself in the Studio for three days with a Roland Jupiter 8 synthesizer and a drum machine. The rest of the band saw it as a potential hit, added words and instrumental parts, in particular, changing the name to "Radio Ga Ga".

 5. My favorite album.

My favorite album is «Queen ll».
The disc is divided into "White" and "Black" sides instead of the usual "A" side and "B" side. The fantasy theme of the album echoes the work of Led Zeppelin of those years,  although Queen's fairies and trolls were a more mannered gathering than Led Zeppelin's queens and giants.

 ...for which the Walt Disney company made the animation for the video clip ("A Kind of Magic»);

...the British band that won the American Billboard award for the song "Another One Bites the Dust" simultaneously in three categories-Disco, Rock / Pop and R&B;

...whose 10 albums reached the top 10 of the Argentine chart in one week; ...each member of which wrote at least one hit, which hit the top ten of the UK singles chart;

...whose singles have occupied the top spot of the UK singles chart for four consecutive decades (the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s).
Queen musicians were the first to buy their own recording studio. Hits of the “Queens” were leaders in all kinds of charts, and “Bohemian Rhapsody” even got into the famous Guinness Book of Records, as it was recognized as the best in all respects. The team is also among the three owners of the "uranium" disk. The Queen's group was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Queen was the first to release the Greatest Flix music video collection.
