    Урок «What are your job ideas?».

    Этапы  урока

    1. Организационный  момент – 2 минуты.

    Good morning, my dear friends. Take your seats, please and get ready for the lesson. Let’s get acquainted. I’d like you stand up and say your name. For example, my name is Anna Vladimirovna and I’m your teacher for this lesson. (pupils…) Nice to meet you Masha. So if you are ready, let’s start the lesson.

    2. Определение темы урока.

    Yesterday I read the book and found the proverb, which has a very deep meaning. But you should try to guess this proverb. Now let’s play “a life sentence”. Your task is look at the words and make up the proverb in original way. Please take the cards, read them. Your card is…( ученикам раздаются карточки со словами: every, man, is, a blacksmith, of his, fortune). What does the word “blacksmith” mean? Blacksmith - кузнец. And now make up the sentence. Find the right place in this proverb. Now let’s read our variant. What does it mean how do you think? “Every man is a blacksmith of his fortune”. Let’s try to translate it.

    And I hope you guess the topic of our lesson. That’s right today we are going to talk about your future jobs. So the theme of our lesson is “What are your job ideas?”

    Now look at the blackboard, you see the list of useful new words. The first – list of the words, the second – “plus” (if you know this word), “minus” (if you don’t know this word). Now let’s fill this table you have 2 minutes:

    Let’s read the text very attentively and try to guess where you should use the new words, fill in the gaps with the new words. You have 4 minutes.

    I am personally very interested in a career working with children. My parents think I am caring person with good communication skills. Since my childhood I have wanted to be either a nursery school or primary school teacher. These careers require further study after Year 11. So I am taking A levels in English, drama and IT college. I also take part in the college events – this is something positive that I can write in my curriculum vitae together with my work experience. I helped in both a nursery and a primary school. I thought it would allow me to develop both my key skills and my personal qualities I asked the people who I worked with what qualifications they had done. They talked to me about the good and bad aspects of the job of the teacher and what they liked about it. It is hard work but it allows you to feel personal achievement, to feel respect, besides the salary is good. I liked to belong to a team and my work helped me to improve my confidence and to get the skills that I need for higher education or employment. Now I plan to go on to higher education after college. But if I decide to change my career in the future, I am certain that neither my skills nor experience will be useless to me.

    First, listen to the text and check yourself. Now I’d like you to go to the whiteboard and demonstrate the right answers.  (Проверка сначала по аудированию, затем выходят к интерактивной доске по цепочке и вставляют пропущенные слова). Well done!!! – 4 min.

    Let’s continue our work with the text and now we check your attention and your reaction. Let’s play “Wrong sentence”. Do you know this play? I’ll give you the wrong sentence from the text and you should say me: “No you are wrong!” and you should find the right answer. Is that clear? (3 MIN)

    4. I thought it would not allow me to develop my key skills.

    6. Now I plan to go to primary school.

    6. Повторение и обобщение изученного материала.

    Now look at your grammar for revision. Double conjunctions. (2 min.)

    Both Katay and Olay want to work with children.

    Sasha would like to be either a coach or a teacher.

    Oleg wants to be neither a pilot nor a dentist.

    And now please find in the text the sentences with the double conjunctions and translate them. (Образец на доске показать пример).

    So tell me please what is this text about? I think you know your future jobs; do you want to know the future job of your classmates? Now I’ll give you a survey. Instructions.

    1. You should stand up, leave your place, you may move around the class.
    2. Ask everybody in your class about his/her future job (For example: “Would you like to be a pilot?”).
    3. Make notes (“+”, “-“ opposite their names).
    4. Make the conclusion, use the phrases: - Both Katay and Olay want to be a teacher.
    • Sasha would like to be either a pilot or a layer.
    • Oleg wants to be neither a doctor nor a driver.

    And your partner can say only “yes or no” that’s enough. When you finish your interview, your group should choose one expert (statistician), who tells us the results of your survey. Ответы учеников. – 4 min. How do you think what profession is the most popular in your class.

    Well done!! And now let’s turn to our first blank and let’s try to value your knowledge at the end of the lesson. And if you know all the new words you may do ex.2 p. 95 in your AB, but if you don’t know all the words very well, you should revise them and do ex. 3 p. 95 in your Activity Book.
