                          « Города Великобритании. Виды  Лондона»

                                                                      

Тема: Города Великобритании. Виды Лондона.

Цель:  Активизировать лексику по теме, совершенствовать навыки чтения, аудирования, устной  речи;

        развивать пам'ять, монологическую речь, внимание, мышление;

        воспитывать інтерес к стране, язик которой изучается.

        Ход урока.

1. Организационный  момент.

2. Фонетическая зарядка.

    London is in fact three cities: the City of London, the East End, West End.                                                                                                          

London stands on the River Thames. There are 27 bridges over the

Thames in London and 8 tunnels under the river.

London is 46 kilometers from the north to the south and 58 kilometers from the east to the west.

London has got more than 7 million people and that’s 13% of Britain’s population.

        Some fact about London.

    London is the capital city of England and of the United Kingdom.

    The City is the heart of London, its commercial and business part. Numerous banks, offices, firms, companies and concentrated there. Among the first historic building is the Tower of London, built in 1087.

     St. Paul’s Cathedral, the most famous church in London, is also situated in City.

      Westminster is another central and important part of London. Most governmental buildings are situated there. On the left bank of the Thames Westminster Palace, famous as the Houses of Parliament.  The Clock Tower with the bell called “Big Ben” is well-known all over the world.

       The West End is the richest and most beautiful part of London. Fine buildings, theatres, museums and big shops can be found there. The best streets and parks of the capital are in the West End too. We can see there Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. There are the centers of night life in the West End.  

       The poorest part of London is the East End. It is most densely populated district of London. There are poor houses, grey and black with smoke. Most of the working people live in the East End. All the plants, factories, mills, workshops are concentrated in the East End. We may say that the East End is the hands of London.
