Тема урока: «Как разнообразен мир!».

Цели и задачи урока:

-Практиковать учащихся в употреблении лексики по теме;

-Практиковать учащихся в употреблении артикля с географическими названиями;

-Практиковать учащихся в чтении/аудировании с пониманием основной идеи текста;

-Практиковать учащихся в чтении/аудировании с извлечением информации;

-Развивать навыки монологической речи по теме.  

   Оборудование урока:

Все компоненты УМК (учебник, тетрадь, кассета, магнитофон).

Карты Великобритании, США, Австралии.

Картинки и фото с изображением различных ландшафтов.

Таблица артиклей с географическими названиями.

Интерактивная доска.

  План занятия:

1.Организационный момент.

2.Ознакомление с целями и задачами урока.

3. Речевая зарядка.

4.Фонетическая зарядка.

5.Работа над лексикой:

а) Повторить за учителем слова по теме: «Ландшафт»;

б) Сопоставить слова и их определения;

в) Соотнести  слова, обозначающие ландшафт , с прилагательными;

г) Рассказать , где  вы хотели бы провести выходные дни;

д) Предположить,  для  каких стран типичны эти ландшафты

6.Работа над текстом:

а) Прочитать текст   и понять общее содержание текста .  Объяснить о каких странах идет речь , привести доводы.

б) Сказать о климате,  каких стран идет речь в следующих предложениях.

7.Повторение грамматического материала об употреблении артикля с географическими названиями.

8. Чтение предложений из текста с заменой выделенных слов именами собственными

9.Какую страну вы хотели бы посетить  и почему? Работа в парах.

10.Подведение итогов социологического опроса.

10.Аудирование. Работа с картой.

11.Заполнение пропусков в предложениях, составление рассказа о  географическом положении страны с помощью карты.

12.Рассказы учащихся о стране изучаемого языка.

13.Проектная деятельность. Составление рассказов о других англоязычных странах.

1. -Good morning, children. I am glad to see you.

Today some guests from other schools are present at our lesson.

Dear teachers, I am happy to greet you on behalf of my students.

Dear children, don’t be shy, don’t be nervous, smile pleasantly and try to speak English as well as you can.

2. The theme of our lesson is “How different the world is!”Today we are going to read and speak about varieties of the world where we live.

3. Answer my questions, please:

-What country is this?

-Is it big or small?

-Is this an island or a continent?

-How many rivers are there in this country?

-What are the main rivers?

-What mountains of this country do you know?

-What oceans is this country washed by?

4. And now let’s start with phonetic drills.

5. a) Look  at  the words  related to landscapes and repeat them after me:

c) Now look at the list of adjectives and read them:

d) Please, make up word combinations to describe landscapes:

a vast ocean, etc.

c)  -What  kind of landscapes do you prefer?  Where would you like to spend your weekend?

Explain your choice, please.

e)            Try to guess what countries such landscapes     are typical of.

6. Reading for the main idea (ex.2 (1) p.4-5).

a)-The photos are taken in the countries that are described in ex.2.Read texts A, B and C and say which countries are described. Please read the texts quickly, scan them for the answer to the question.

b) What country has such  climate ?

Most of the country is sunny most of the year.

There’s steady rainfall throughout most of the year.

Practically every climate in the world is represented.

It has a mild climate.

Severe droughts, floods and cyclones happen very often.

It is never very cold or very hot.

The southern parts of the country have warm temperatures all year round, but the northern parts have very cold winters.

7. Geographical names make a description of a country more specific.

-Read the geographical names:

We do not use « the» with the names of continents, countries, cities, single mountains and single islands.

We use « the» with the names of oceans, seas, rivers, deserts, mountain ranges, groups of islands and some countries.

8 . Replace the highlighted words in the descriptions of the USA, the UK and Australia in ex.2 with suitable geographical names. Add articles where necessary.

9.    Work in pairs. Ask each other what count ry would you like to visit and why.

10. You can see the map of the UK in your AB (p.5) Study the map and   prepare for listening.

--You will listen to the geographical position of the UK. Tick the names you hear on the map. Pay attention, usually the geographical names are written without articles on the map. Check your answers
