Saturday Tennis Club                                               

Do you like tennis?

If the answer is “yes”, come along to our Saturday Club.

We aren’t all good at tennis but we all love this sport. We meet from 10 to 12 every Saturday morning from May to October at St. David’s school. Don’t forget to take your PE kit – you don’t need anything more!

Writing

Write an announcement about a school club. Use the plan to help you.

Start: Begin with a short question to get people interested (e.g. Do you like..?).

Style: Use short clear sentences. Make the announcement easy, fast and interesting to read. Use imperatives to tell people what to do or not to do (e.g. Come! Don’t sit!).

Content: Say what the club is that you are announcing. Include all the practical information that a reader needs to know.
