Обобщающий урок по теме спорт в 8 классе

«Higher, faster, stronger!»

Цели:

  1. Активизация лексических навыков.
  2. Совершенствование речевых навыков.
  3. Развитие способности к сравнению и сопоставлению.
  4. Совершенствование грамматических навыков (Present Perfect Passive).
  5. Обучение аудированию с целью понимания общего содержания, извлечения конкретной информации.

Оборудование:

  • компьютер, мультимедийный  проектор, экран;
  • упражнения с заданиями (дифференцированные), выполненные на компьютере с помощью программы для презентаций “Power Point”.

(Урок проводился в день открытия зимней олимпиады в Сочи)

Ход урока:

1. Warming-up. Введение в тему урока, создание мотивации.

Teacher: Good afternoon! Today is a special day in the history of our country and the whole world, a day which we have been looking forward for a long time… What event is it? (the opening of the Olympic Games in Sochi). And of course, we can’t miss the chance to speak about sport and its role in life of people. So, today the theme of our lesson is « Higher, faster, stronger! »

Для настройки учащихся на беседу по теме используются пословицы.

Teacher: To begin with let’s remember proverbs and sayings about sport. Match two parts and translate them.  Repeat it after me, please…

A sound mind in a sound body. - В здоровом теле здоровый дух.

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championship. - Талант добывает победу в игре, но чемпионство добывают команда и интеллект.

In sports and journeys men are known. - Люди познаются в спорте и в путешествиях.

All for one and one for all. – Один за всех и все за одного.

T: Many teens sit glued to the TV sets or computer screens for hours, they become coach potatoes.  Do you want to be a coach potato? If not, what is the way out? What is the best way to keep fit and healthy?

T: No doubt, sport is the best way to keep fit.

c) Who are the most outstanding sportsmen/women in the UK? (Sir Robert Charlton , David Beckham – outstanding football players, Stephen Geoffrey Redgrave, Linford Christie - the most successful British athletes, Martin Johnson - the best contemporary English rugby player, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - figure skaters).
