Этапы  урока

1. Организационный  момент – 2 минуты.

Good morning, students. Take your seats, please and get ready for the lesson. First of all I would like to get acquainted. I’d like you stand up and say your name. I can start, my name is Anna Vladimirovna . (students…) Nice to meet you Masha. So if you are ready, let’s start our lesson.

2. When I was a little girl I liked fairy-tales very much. Now I like them too. And do you like fairy-tales? (Fairy-tale is on the blackboard).

Today I would like to read one interesting tale with you. But first of all, you will try to guess the main character of this tale.

On your desks there are papers with the crosswords. Do you remember English alphabet? I hope you do. If you connect the points with English letters one after another you can see the main hero of our fairy-tale. – 3 min.

So who is the main character of our story? (It is a mouse).

Well done!

3. Let’s repeat all together and do phonetic drill.

This is a mouse.

She lives in the house.

This is a cat.

He is very fat

Because he lives in the house

And he likes to eat a mouse.

4. Before we will read the tale. Let’s check your knowledge of active vocabulary. Now look at your desks, you see the list of useful new words. The first column of the table – list of the words, the second – “plus” (if you know this word), “minus” (if you don’t know this word). Now let’s fill this table. You can write  only “+” if you know this word and “-“ if you don’t know, please write without long thinking, you have only 1 minute:

Yes that’s right, we would like to learn these words, it means that we would like to broaden our active vocabulary. You see the pictures that illustrate the new words, let’s try to understand the meaning of the words, it will help you to learn these words&

Now we have two groups and we are ready to play.

Listen to the instruction of our game “Remember the text”.

  • I’ll give you the text of the tale, but there are some gaps in this text.
  • On that wall there are two papers with the whole text, one for each group.
  • To fill in the gaps only one student of the group is to run to the wall, read the text, remember the word and return to your group.
  • But other students will write down the words, which your herald will bring.
  • The winner will be the group which will do it faster and correctly. (5 min.)

7. So, the first group is ready, let’s check. I offer you to change your papers and you will check each other. If the Country group fills in the gaps correctly, the city group can put “+”. You can see the right variant on the screen. Please tell us how many pluses has taken the Country… and the City? Well done. You run very fast! – 2 min.

8. Now let’s continue our work with the text and check your attentiveness. I’ll read the sentences about our tale and you are to tell me if this sentence is True or False.

B. Мой дом – моя крепость.

C. Всяк кулик свое болото хвалит.

D. В гостях хорошо, а дома лучше.

1 – B, 2 – D, 3 – C, 4 – A.

11. Could you choose the proverb that describes the main idea of the tale, please.

Let’s make the conclusion of our lesson in “the life sentence”. I’ll give you the cards with the words and you are to take right place in the sentence.

“There is no place like home” – 2 min.

12. Now I would like to return to our first list with the words and try to fill the table again – 1 min. So if you put only “+” and you know all the words, you can try to write the composition “There is no place like home” and describe your home. But if you don’t know all the words and you would like to repeat them again, you can try to summary this text.

13. At the end of our lesson you can tell your conclusion.
