II. Warming – up

    Activity: answer the questions?

• What extra education can children get in school?
• What is a school for children?
• What do children begin to realize at secondary schools?

    Activity: what words can you name when you hear a word «EDUCATION» (appendix 1)

(on the blackboard there is a word EDUCATION, students name different words and teacher write them)

    These words will help students during these lesson

III Reading

     Students are suggested a text.

      Activity: Read the text  and make the task from 1 till 5, circle the letter  a, b, c, or d, which is appropriate to the right variant (multiple choice) (appendix 2)

    Before making this task the  teacher gives instructions to students that before reading the text they should firstly look through suggested variants and according to them try to guess what this text will be about

    Checking.  After making this task students should write their variants in their answer sheet and  then the representative of each group should go to the blackboard write them  and compare with right answers (Appendix 3)

   Activity: Will you make a summary of this text?

   Activity:  Read the following text and match each of the headings A-G to one of the texts 1-6. There is only one text to every heading. One heading is extra.(Appendix 4)

   Before starting  the teacher offers students to make the following activity

   Activity: Read every heading very carefully and give a definition to them

    In advance the teacher has hung out the printed heading on the blackboard

   Checking:    After making this task students should write their variants in their answer sheet. The teacher names every heading and students name their letters. And also they must prove why they chose this or that headings   (to name key-words or key-sentences etc.) 

  Activity:  Answer the questions

• What is the genre of the suggested text? Prove your point of view
• What task was the most difficult?
• What is the aim of the 1st and the 2nd text?

  The process of estimation

   The head of each group should estimate every member of it according to definite criteria and put them a mark

 Home task: at home students should  compare the system of education of two countries: the  Russian Federation and the Great  Britain
