When we think about England we usually remember its capital, London with its famous Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. But England is not only London. England is the largest part of the UK. It is divided in 5 regions: the Southeast, The Southwest, Midlands, East Anglia and the North of England.

Why do people go to England? First of all, it’s a good opportunity to do business. A lot of industries are concentrated on the river Thames and in the industrial cities as Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool and of course, London.

Secondly, people can get high standard education at prestigious universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Moreover, there are a lot of places connected with famous English people. For example, Stratford-upon-Avon, where W. Shakespeare was born.

England attracts tourist by its picturesque sceneries in Lake District in the North of England or famous sea resorts in the south of the country.

The most famous places to visit are mysterious Stonehenge in the Southwest, the ruins of Hadrian’s wall on the border with Scotland

A continent and a country Australia is the biggest island in the world. It is a continent and an independent country. It is a land of striking differences. The centre and the west are covered with dry uninhabited deserts: The Great Sandy Desert, the Great Victoria Desert and the Gibson Desert.

People mostly live on the coasts of the east and southeast. Main cities with tall office buildings, automobile plants and busy factories are situated there. The capital is Canberra. Other big cities are Sydney, Melbourne.

Animal world Australia has an extraordinary collection of birds and animals. Many of them are found only there. It is thought that kangaroo is a symbol of Australia. But it also a habitat for such animals as duckbill or platypus, echidna or anteater and also koala and a wild dog dingo.

Language English is the language spoken in Australia, but it is spoken with a distinctive accent. The Australians have the language with a rich variety of their own expressions. It is sometimes difficult to understand for English-speaking foreigners.

Scotland is the country to the north from England. Its capital is Edinburgh. The country is divided into Highlands and Lowlands. Industry is concentrated in Lowlands. Glasgow and Edinburgh are the two great centres of Scotland.

Glasgow is the heart of industry. It is a big port with busy streets.

Edinburg is an ancient city. The most interesting parts are the Old Town and the New Town. The main attraction is the Castle on a huge rock above Edinburg, which is older than the city.

Holyrood Palace is the Queen’s residence when she is in Scotland.

The best time to visit Edinburgh is August or September as it is the time when Military tattoo takes place. It is an outdoors military show with music performed at night.

Another famous event that attracts tourist is Edinburgh festival. It started in 1947. Every year the best performances from all over the world can be seen there.

The USA is a large country with many natural wonders. It has many kinds of scenery: rocky coasts, dry empty deserts, big rivers, plains and grasslands, lakes and mountains, forests and sunny beaches. Americans have saved many beautiful wild areas where people can enjoy wild nature. The most famous of them are The Grand Canyon, Yosemite Valley, Yellowstone National Park and Great Lakes and the Niagara Falls in the north.

Travelling around the USA tourists try to visit popular sights in different parts of the country. Some of them would like to see the Statue of Liberty and the Bronx Zoo. Others want to visit Disneyland. The fans of cinema try to get to Hollywood- the famous film studio. It is impossible to visit all of them in a short time.
