Урок-экскурсия по Вашингтону. Урок проведен в 8 классе после изучения основной темы. В течении урока проводится повторение грамматических тем "настоящее законченное время" и неправильные глаголы.

Ход урока

  1. Организационный момент.

T: -Good morning, boys and girls!

Ps:- Good morning, teacher!

T: - Sit down. Let’s begin our lesson. Today the theme of our lesson is “Washington D.C.”. We revice our knowledge about this city, brush up grammar theme “Present Perfect Tense”.

Answer the questions:

  -What date is it today?

Ps: -Today is the 21st of October.

     -What is the day today?

Ps: -Today is Thursday.

     -Who is absent?

Ps: -…….

  1. Фонетическая разминка и речевая зарядка.  

-All right. Let’s begin.

Look at the blackboard. You see some sighs of Washington D.C. Read them after me.

                   The Washington Monument

                   The Jefferson Monument

                   The Lincoln Monument

                    The White House

                    The Capitol

                    The Library of Congress

-Do you know them?  

Ps:  -Yes, we do.

-So, you know a lot about America. Answer my questions then:

      -How many states are there in the USA?

P:  -There are 50 states.

-On what continent is the USA situated?

P: -It is situated on the North America.

    -In what American cities can you see a lot of tall buildings?

P: -In New-York, Chicago…

    -Is Washington and Washington D.C. the same place?

P: -No, Washington is the state, and Washington D.C. is the capital of the USA.

   -What are Americans proud of?

P: -They are proud of their country.

     -Are you proud of your country?

P: -Yes, we are

(ученики делятся на две группы: туристы и работники туристического агенства)

T:  -OK. I see you know lots about the USA. Now we’ll play a role-playing game. Girls, you will be clerks in tour firm “Around the World”. And I will be your manager. Look, We have some visitors. Let’s say “hello” to them.

Pcl.: -Ledies and gentlemen, we are glad to see you in our agency. What would you like?

Pt. –We’d like to see Washington D.C.

Pt.: -Yes, I heard a lot about this city.

Pt.: -Also, it’s a capital of the USA, isn’t it?

Pt.: -But, maybe it’s not so interesting, I think.

Pcl.: -No, you are not right. And we can tell you about it.

T:  -Yes, girls. Let’s show our guests a short presentation film about this beautiful city and its sights. Dear friends, you see a map on the blackboard. Ira, can you show us these places of interests?

P: - Yes, sure.

   (Ученики-туристы называют памятники Вашингтона, ученик-агент показывает их на карте.)

   2) Монологическая речь

T: -Good, and now let’s tell our guests about them.

   (ученики рассказывают о достопримечательностях. Презентация )

    3) Диалогическая речь

T: -Thank you, girls. So, dear guests. Are you ready to go to the USA?

Pt: -Yes, we are.

Pt: -But we have some questions. Can you answer them?

T: -Sure. We are listening to you.

Pt: -I didn’t understand, are there any tall buildings in Washington D.C.?

Pcl: -Only the Capitol. It’s the tallest building in the city.

Pt: -Can we see all the rooms in the White House?

Pcl: -No, you can’t. You can visit only the first floor. The rest rooms are closed for visitors.

Pt: -Who was the founder of Washington D.C.? Was he the first President of the USA?

Pcl: -The founder of Washington D.C. and the first president of the USA was George Washington.

Pt: -Is it true that laws are made in Washington D.C.?

Pcl: -Yes, you are right.

   4) Чтение

T: -OK. Have you got any more questions?  (No)

-So, let’s continue. Look at your desks. You are going to Washington D.C. There is a text about this city on your desks. Please, read it and find out the words that don’t belong to any sentence. And then you’ll find the key of the text.

(ученики читают текст и находят ключевую фразу  )

    “Washington D.C. is the capitol of the USA.”

   5)  Физминутка

T: -Girls, guests, I think you are tired. Let’s have a rest.  Stand up. Imagine that we are in Washington D.C.

You will see a lot of sights,

Wink your eyes, wink your eyes.

Say “hello” to new friends,

Wave your hands, wave your hands.

How will you turn your head?

Right, left, right, left.

Up and down, sit down.

      6) Повторение грамматики

T: -Now, let’s continue. You are ready to visit Washington D.C. But do you know grammar rules. How will you tell your friends about the trip? What can you say about Present Perfect?  You may say in Russian.

(ученики рассказывают правило употребления настоящего завершенного времени )

T: -Yes. And you have some cards on your desks. Let’s do these exercises.

  Ex. 1 Write 3 forms of irregular verbs.(карточка № 1)

   Ex. 2 Change the sentences using Present Perfect (карточка № 2)

 (ученики выполняют упражнения, затем проверяем на слайдах  )

    7) Аудирование

T: - OK. The exercises have done. And now I have information for you. Listen to me and say what is about this text in Russian. (см. приложение)

( Текст о Джордже Вашингтоне. Ученики пересказывают на русском языке )

    4.    Подведение итогов, выставление оценок, дом. задание.

T: -Yes, you’re understood well. And now let’s play. We knew out a lot of things about Washington D.C. Can you say me what you think about it?

Please, continue the phrase

T: -Now, our work has done. And you see circuls  on your desks. Please, draw the face of your sense. If you like the lesson or not?

T: -Very good. I see you’ve liked the lesson. And it’s time to finish it. All of you were good. Girls, you maybe will become good managers of tour agency. And you, boys and girls should learn English little more and you will see the whole world.

I’d like you write a short essay of our lesson.

Library of Congress Not far from the Capitol is the Library of Congress, the largest library in the States. It contains more than 13 million books, more than 19 million manuscripts, including the personal papers of the US presidents.

The national Gallery of Arts The National Gallery of Arts is the finest museum. This museum is a part of Smithsonian Institution. It was found in 1941

The sixty-feet high busts of Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Lincoln on the granite cliffs of Mount Rushmore, in South Dacota , are the work of sculptor Gutzon Borglum (1867-1941). After his death his son Lincoln, and a team of helpers finished this work. The monument attracts thousand of visitors each year.

Washington, D.C. It stands on the Washington River Potomac. George Washington chose it to be the nation’s capital on December 1, 1800. The district D.C. is named after Columbus who discovered America in 1492. Washington, D.C. is one of the most beautiful and unusual cities in the USA. No building in the city may be is more than 40 meters tall. Washington, D.C. is the seat of federal government and there is the White House, the official residence of the President. President John Adams and his wife were the first to live there. It was in the November 1800. The White House is the oldest building in capital Washington, D.C. It has the most famous address in the United States -1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There are 3 floors and 132 rooms in the White of House. The rooms for public functions are on the first floor. The United States Capitol is the tallest building in the Washington, D.C. and the most famous building in the USA because this is where the laws are made. Washington, D.C. doesn’t belong to any state USA . It is a city and a district – the District of Columbia ( D.C.). The state of Washington is in the north – west of the USA. Washington, D.C. is on the East Coast.
