Цели и задачи:

Расширить и закрепить языковые знания и навыки: лексические и коммуникативные умения

Развивать познавательный интерес учащихся; расширять страноведческие знания

Привлечь внимание к защите окружающей среды, убедить в том, что эта проблема актуальна для каждого из нас

Формировать умение делать проекты

Ход урока

Beginning

Warming up

T: I am glad to see you

Ps: Good morning to you

Introduction of the lesson

T: We are going to talk about nature today. And the result of our work will be…

Look at the board. If you put the letters in the right order you’ll get the key word.

Ps: PROJECT.

T: Yes, you are right. It will be a project. That is why we are going to talk about environmental problems and how people try to help the planet.

Follow up

T: Let’s read the article “Our planet is in danger” and answer the questions: (слайд 1)

P1: I think it is our environment.

P2: They are water and air pollution.

P3: Because we cannot live without water. We will die without air. We need air to breeze.

P4: Of course, we must protect our planet.

P5: I think we can but we don’t know how to do it.

T: Our planet is in our hands. Let us go camping and watch nature. Do you like camping?

P1: I like camping because we can sleep in tents, make a campfire and pick up berries.

P2: In my opinion camping is fun because I like to play games and swim.

P3: I hate camping because after a long way you cannot sleep. Somebody snores mosquitoes sit on your nose. The ground is hard and cold.

T: Any time we are going to my favorite place.

We were going to stop for the night but we cannot. Look everything is awful!

What’s happened?

Ps: Somebody started a fire (polluted the water, killed the fish, left the litter, cu down trees, etc)

T: You see, the world around is in danger and we must protect the nature. The Earth is our big home. What do you think we can do with litter? Слайд 4:

P1: We must burn it.

T: We cannot do this because the toxin from the litter will pollute the atmosphere.

P2: We must bury it under the ground.

T. We cannot do this because litter lasts for a long time.

Ps: We must take it home.

T: We’ll have to do this! There are special factories that recycle materials.

Now listen on the text about how people in England protect the environment and be ready to answer the question: «How do people in England protect the environment?”

Учащиеся слушают текст упражнения и отвечают на вопросы учителя с опорой на слайд 3:

T: So, how can you help the environment? How can you protect the world around us?

Let’s make up “Green rules” Take the tree leaf and write what you must do and what you must not do to protect our planet from pollution.

Примерные варианты предложений учащихся:

We must not drop litter in the street

We must not destroy birds’ nests

We must not pollute water

We must not make campfires

We must grow trees

We must protect animals

We must put litter in a bin

T: Let’s pin our leaves to the board.

Now let’s sing the song about nature protection (слайд 4)

T: What did you understand at the lesson?

P1: It’s important to protect the world around us.
