ЦЕЛИ УРОКА: активизация лексики по теме

Развитие умения устной речи (умения сообщать ,рассказывать)

Развитие навыка самостоятельной работы и работы в группе

Приобретение знаний о традициях Великобритании связанных с праздником» Хеллоуин»

Задачи: провести практику речевой деятельности, активизировать лексику по теме, дать знания страноведческого характера

Повысить мотивацию к изучению иностранного языка

Оборудование :проектор, презентация МS PowerPoint, раздаточный материал.

                   Ход урока

Урок начинается с организационного момента и сообщения темы урока

Good morning ,dear friends! Today we are going to speak about different superstitions ,customs and traditions. Today is the 31^st of October .What holiday is it today? Do you know anything about this holiday?

Let us start our lesson with poem:

Halloween, Halloween, magic night

We are glad and very bright

We all dance and sing and recite

Welcome, welcome Halloween night

Different people have different superstitions. They believe in good luck or bad luck .Do you believe in good luck? What superstitions do you know? Can you tell us?

-It is unlucky to spill salt .If you do it, you must take a pinch and throw it over your left shoulder.

-It is very  bad  luck to open an umbrella in the house – it will bring misfortune to the person who has opened it

-It is unlucky to take the last piece of bread on the plate

-It is bad luck to see one magpie But it is lucky to see two.

-It is unlucky to put new shoes on the table.

-It is extremely unlucky to break a mirror .It means 7 years of bad luck.

-The number 13 is very unlucky.

-Black cats are lucky.

-Catch falling leaves in autumn  and you will have good luck. Every leaf means  a lucky month in the next year.

I see, you know a lot of different superstitions .But today people in the USA ,Great Britain will celebrate a wonderful holiday-Halloween. In Britain it is a day for fun .There are always a lot of parties that night.

Some people wear masks ,others dress as ghosts and witches .Everybody  is happy .At the parties both adults and children have fun, play different games. Now, to learn more about this holiday, let’s watch a presentation. There are new words on the blackboard. Do you know these words?

1 Halloween means a holy evening and takes place on the 31^st of October.

2 Many centuries ago people thought that Halloween was the night when the witches and other evil spirits came out.

3 Nowadays, at parties people dress up as witches, devils, black cats, bats and monsters.

4 They cut horrible faces  in pumpkins and put a candle inside, which shines through the eyes.

5 In the evening children go from house to house ,knock at the doors and say «Trick or Treat.»

6 If people do not give children a «treat», they play a trick on them ,such as making a lot of noise.
