План-конспект  урока английского языка по теме "What Can We Do to Save Our Planet?"


Данный урок является обобщающим по  теме  “Are You a Friend Of the Planet?” (Unit 4, учебник В.П.Кузовлев 7 класс).
Цели:
Познавательные: знакомство с экологическими знаками, принятыми в англоязычных странах, с тем, как жители этих стран заботятся о природе.
Развивающие:  развитие способности к сравнению, умозаключению.
Воспитательные: воспитание уважительного отношения к природе, воспитание бережливости.
Учебные: формирование лексических и грамматических навыков говорения по проблеме.
Тип урока: урок повторения, систематизации и обобщения знаний.

Оснащение урока (технические средства обучения): компьютер; видеоролик с песней, мультимедийный проектор;  презентация Power Point; раздаточный материал, фломастеры, ватман.
Речевой материал:
Лексический: grass, to keep off, wild; a container, to damage, to destroy, to disturb, environment, glass, nature, to plant, plastic, to pollute, pollution, to protect, to recycle, to reduce, to reuse, to spoil, to throw away, wild life, air, to disappear, Earth;
Грамматический: модальные глаголы (must, should, can); страдательный залог в настоящем времени (Simple Present Passive); страдательный залог с неопределенной формой.

Ход урока

I. Организационно-мотивационный этап:

1) Организационный момент (1мин.):
Teacher: Good morning, I am glad to see you.

Cl: Good morning! We are glad to see you, too.

2) Целеполагание (3 мин.):

Teacher: How are you today?

P1: Fine, thank you.

P2: I’m OK.

P3: (заранее подготовленный ученик) I feel nervous today.

Teacher: What’s the matter?

P3: While I was walking to school I saw a lot of rubbish near the school building. There were paper, plastic bottles and cans.

Teacher: If I were you, I would pick it all up.

P3: That’s a good idea. I’ll do that.

формулировка проблемного вопроса:

Teacher: Can you say what are we going to discuss today? We are going to speak about the problem of environmental protection. You know that people all over the world are worried about our environment. And we shall find out “What Can We Do to Save Our Planet”.
II. Исполнительский этап:

 Упр.1 (2 мин.)

Teacher: Tell me if you have seen any of these signs. What do they mean? (Приложение 1). Учитель показывает слайды по проблемам экологии, учащиеся называют проблему.
Class: Keep your country tidy!
Keep of the grass!
Put your litter in the bin!
Keep dogs under control!

Упр.2 (2 мин.)

Teacher: And now tell me what we should do to keep our country tidy. Grammar in focus: modal verbs must, should, can. (Используя те же самые слайды,  учащиеся составляют предложения с модальными глаголами и предыдущими фразами).
P1: We must keep of the grass.
P2: We must keep dogs under control.

Упр.3 (3 мин.)
Teacher: We know that we should do something. Here you can see some advice on how to keep our country tidy. (Учащимся даются советы по защите окружающей среды.  Их задача - составить предложения, используя пассивную конструкцию с инфинитивом.)
a) Teacher: What are you asked to do or not to do?
 Recycle plastic bottles.
 Put your litter in the bin.
 Don’t hurt wild animals.
 Keep off the grass.
 Don’t pollute nature.
 Throw away less litter.
 Reduce using electricity.
Class: We are asked to keep off the grass.
We are asked to reduce using electricity.

Упр.4 (3 мин.)
Teacher: Let’s use Simple Present Passive and put the verb in brackets in the correct form.
 When the trees (cut down), the forests (destroy).
 When paper (recycle), nature (not damage).
 When nature (not pollute), wild animals (not hurt).
 When animals (save), nature (not pollute).

Упр.5 (10 мин.)

Teacher: Let’s work in groups. Today you have learned many signs connected with saving and protecting nature. I propose you to make your own signs. Divide into 4 groups. Write a slogan to the sign and represent it.

Упр.6 (7 мин.)

Teacher: Let’s learn more about environmental problems and ways how to solve them. You will work in groups. After reading the article please answer the questions.

- the 1st group: What are the main environmental problems in water?

- the 2nd group: What are the environmental problems on land?

- the 3rd group: What are the environmental problems in air?

- the 4th group: What do people do to solve environmental problems?

Teacher: Let’s have a rest and sing a song about our beautiful Earth. (Приложение 3)

Упр.8 (5 мин.)

Teacher: Let’s remember the question we have asked at the beginning of the lesson. What can we personally do to save our planet? (возвращаемся к поставленному в начале урока вопросу)
1. What can we recycle, reuse, reduce?
2. What are global environmental problems?
3. How do people influence the environment?
4. What can children do to help the Earth?
5. Why do we have to protect nature?
6. How can we protect nature?
7. What ecological organizations help protect nature?

III. Рефлексивно-оценочный этап. (5 мин.)

How do you think: Have we found the answer to the question? I’m glad you understand that everybody is in charge of the planet. Let’s summarize our lesson. Каждый ученик формулирует итоги урока, используя схему, где он соединяет и обобщает свои впечатления, знания, умения.

Finish the sentences:

Environmental problems

The poisoning of the world's land, air, and water is the fastest-spreading disease of civilization. It probably produces fewer headlines than wars, earthquakes and floods, but it is potentially one of history's greatest dangers to human life on earth. If present trends continue for the next several decades, our planet will become uninhabitable.

Overpopulation, pollution and energy consumption have created such planet-wide problems as massive deforestation, ozone depletion, acid rains and the global warming that is believed to be caused by the greenhouse effect.

The seas are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The Mediterranean is already nearly dead; the North Sea is following. The Aral Sea is on the brink of extinction. If nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas.

Every ten minutes one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever. If nothing is done about it, one million species that are alive today will have become extinct twenty years from now.

Air population is a very serious problem. In Cairo just breathing the air is life threatening- equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. The same holds true for Mexico City and 600 cities of the former Soviet Union.

Industrial enterprises emit tons of harmful substances. These emissions have disastrous consequences for our planet. They are the main reason for the greenhouse effect and acid rains.

An even greater environmental threat is nuclear power stations. We all know how tragic the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster are.

People are beginning to realize that environmental problems are not somebody else's. They join and support various international organizations and green parties. If governments wake up to what is happening – perhaps we'll be able to avoid the disaster that threatens the natural world and all of us with it.

Some grapes are red or blue.
