I am very glad that you had a good vacation.

As for me, I also spent a wonderful vacation. First, I lived with my parents in the garden. The weather was hot and I do a lot swam with my friends. We played soccer and rode bicycles.

And in August, we went to rest with my parents in Cyprus. It is a large island in the Mediterranean with a wonderful climate. We swam in the sea and were lying in the shade of huge eucalyptus trees. We traveled along the mountain paths and playing tennis. Anyway, it was a memorable summer.

How did you start out? Is there a newcomers in your class?  A new subjects?

    In your letter you write about your problem. It's really difficult to take care of little children. You must be patient and kind. As you know, I've got a 3-year-old brother, so I spend a lot of time with him. I must say I find it very difficult. He's very active and naughty. As for me, I wouldn't like to be a baby-sitter because it's a very complicated job. What's more, you're responsible for the baby you look after.

    As for your visit to the library, what books did you want to take? Why did you need them? How often do you go to the library?

 Thanks for your letter.

 I wish I'd been at that party and had fun with all of you! I usually have birthday parties. I invite some of my class- mates and closest friends. Besides birthdays my friends have New Year's parties, but I don't attend them since New Year is a family celebration here. My favorite celebration is Halloween, which has become popular here. However it's not allowed in my school, that's why my friends and I have Halloween parties at home. We dress up in costumes have snacks and drinks play jokes, dance and tell scary stories. Sometimes our parents join us. I really think this day is for fun!

Tell me about your grandma's visit. How long did she stay? What did you do? Does she live far away? Write soon!

As for my new school it's very big! It has three computer rooms and wonderful sport facilities. Actually, it seems a nice place and I enjoy studying there. The kids in my class are very friendly.  

I've already made some new friends and often meet after classes.                    

I've got only one new subject this year. It's Economics and I'm beginning to think that it's not difficult, after all!

By the way, what music styles do you enjoy? Have you got any favorite bands? Would you like to go to their concert? As for me, I prefer Radiohead. They are cool!

It was great to hear from you! I'm really glad you passed your History test.

You asked me about hobbies which are popular with Russian teens. Well many teenagers are interested in music and playing computer games. Others are into collecting or doing sports. As for me, my hobby is cooking. I collect traditional Russian recipes and cook these dishes. However, I feel I don’t have enough time for my hobby as I’ve got too much homework. If I had more free time, I’d take up photography. It’s really exciting.

Anyway, it’s great that school is over. What are you going to do in summer? Will you stay with your grandparents? Would you like to visit other countries?

Well, I’d better go now. I’ve got to get ready for my piano class. Wish me luck!

Thanks for your letter. It is so nice to get news about you and your family.  

It's great that you are going to come to Moscow. I'm looking forward to seeing you and your friends. However, there are so many wonderful sights in our capital that it will be impossible to see them within one week. As for the weather, it's usually cold in Moscow at this time; 10 or maybe 15 degrees below zero. Of course, you should take warm thinks: sweaters, a coat, a cap, gloves and a scarf.

As for me, there is nothing new, I study a lot, and sometimes go to the cinema or discos. I haven't been to the theatre for ages.

 What have you seen in the Globe theatre? Was the performance good? Who played the leading parts?

I was glad to receive your letter. It’s really great that your parents let you have a pet.

As for me, I’ve got a kitten called Musik. It’s not difficult to look after him as I only need to clean his letter tray and to feed him. I think cats, dogs, hamsters and parrots make good pets because they are funny to match and it’s easy to take care of them.

Is your house big? Have you got a room of your own? Is there a garden around your house? If you say ‘yes’, you may have a dog or cat, Otherwise you’d better bay a hamster or a parrot as they don’t need so much space.

    You asked me to tell you about Moscow. Well, it is a very beautiful city especially in autumn when all trees are of different colors. The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin. It's an ancient fortress with beautiful churches inside.

    Moscow is a unique city, where history and modern life are brought together. In the one hand, you can enjoy traditional Russian festivals such as Maslenitsa. On the other hand, Moscow is a modern 24-hour city where you can visit different theaters, cinemas and exhibitions.

As for me, I won our school tennis championship. You know I've been playing tennis for nine years. My parents bought me a terrific present - a new American tennis racket.

I cannot say that my classmates fond of sports Their likes may be divided into two groups: the boys like playing football and basketball at leisure time; however, tie girls are not keen on sport games. Some of them prefer aerobics; the others don't go in for sports at all. It's strange, isn't it?

I congratulate Jane on entering such a prestigious university.

    My best friend is Helen. We study in the same class and spend a lot of time with together. We often go to the cinema or to the park. What's more, we just to stay at the home and have tea.

I want to tell you about my best friend.

 I have several friends at school. But the best among them is Anton, who is my class fellow.

 He is of my age. But he is much taller than I in size. Anton has a very cheerful nature. I've known him for two years but have never seen him angry. His face is always smiling. Even if any boy abuses him, Anton never loses his temper.

 At school he sits on the same bench with me. We are together for the greater part of the day. Together we learn and play together. Other boys envy our friendship. But we do not mind it.

 Anton is very good at his lessons. He never neglects his studies. He never gives the teacher a chance to complaint. Mathematics is his weak subject. But Anton is doing his best to make up his weakness.

 My friend is active and smart. He is good at both studies and games. Anton never tells a lie.

  He helps his parents in the house He loves hard work and honest labor.

 All his qualities have attracted me. I cannot find a more ideal friend than Anton.

Dear Becky,  

  Thank you for your letter. I don't think we are great travelers in our family. But we sometimes make open-air journeys all together or my daddy and me. Mom is not so fond of walking on foot and camping. Our favorite route is travelling in the nearest countryside, which is sometimes very exciting, if the weather doesn't spoil the impression. We have a kind of our place in the local forest where we usually stay.

  It's great that you've started writing books. What genre are you interested in? Do you write novels or stories? How do your parents find your hobby? I hope you'll email a copy to me. I'm really excited to read it.

In your letter you are interested in my sports preferences. I go in for football. What's more, I've been training for 8 years. Our team has taken part in many matches and we've won a lot of times. We train 4 times a week.

As for our coach, he's very strict, too. I'm sure that it's necessary to be strict when you train teenagers. He makes us do a lot of exercises but it provides excellent results!

    In your letter you ask me about my friends and my parents' attitude towards them.   I've got a lot of friends. Some of them are interested in rock music. My parents don't understand it but they never show their negative attitude. Of course, I'm sure that my parents' opinion is very important because they have got more experience. However, if my parents don't like my friends, I try to explain them my opinion and we discuss the situation. Sometimes they are right!

     In your letter you ask me about my preference related to the cinema. Of course, I'm fond of films and I often watch them in the cinema. It's a great pleasure to enjoy a good film! As a rule, my friends and I go to the cinema twice a month. Last week we saw "Puss in Boots". It was a funny cartoon and we laughed a lot. My dream is to watch old silent movies.

Sometimes I like to listen to romantic and calm music. Other day I prefer energetic dance music. As for my favourite singer, he's Dima Bilan. His songs are so wonderful! I agree with you that it's a pleasure to turn over the pages of a book in a bookshop when choosing it. Besides you can read the fragments and look at the pictures.

As for my favourite novel, it is "One Hundred Years of Solitude'' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's about the Buendia family who lives in South America. The novel is full of mysterious events and the characters have magical abilities. I think that the most important thing in a novel is its plot because it helps us to follow the characters and analyze their behavior.

You ask me how I spent the summer. I rested at a youth camp on the lake Chebarkul is in Chelyabinsk region. I can not say that the summer was very hot, but at the camp we had fun.
