Barguzin  is a village, was n in 1648. It’s the oldest settlement in Siberia.In 1990 Barguzin was included in the List of historical settlements of Russia. Barguzin is situated in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. Population: 5,590, including children under 6 years of age -557 people, teenagers (aged 7 to 17 years) - 662people, young people (aged 18 to 29 years) – 669 people, adults (aged 30 to 60 years) – 2,406 people, eldery people over 60 years old – 1,219 people, and long-livers of the village over 80 years old – 78 people. Barguzin has a subarctic climate, with severely cold winters and warm summers. There are many historical and memorable places in the village. For example:Transfiguration Church, built in 1834; the old cemetery, where many famouse people are buried (Hungarian poet Sandor Petofi is buried here). There are hotels, a community center, shops, beauty salons, a post office, a hospital, kindergartens, a school and a school museum of local history in Barguzin.
